Sounds of Faith - Chicago

Harran Productions Foundation and Rockefeller Chapel present a tapestry of sound drawn from the rich liturgical and cultural traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Sounds of Faith - Chicago is a major concert event scheduled for Sunday, November 15, 2009, in Hyde Park's own Rockefeller Memorial Chapel at the University of Chicago. This event will bring together some of Chicagoland's most recognizable performers in sacred music and recitation to expose all present to the sounds of traditions of which they may only have a passing knowledge. Performed by leading Chicago practitioners, including Cantor Alberto Mizrahi, Amir Koushkani, the Salem Baptist Choir, and the Rockefeller Chapel Choir with University Organist Thomas Weisflog, this celebration of diverse sounds of faith will be introduced by Bill Kurtis and filmed for a television broadcast special. Through this awe inspiring event, we hope to build peace and friendship among an audience of 1200+ from Abrahamic congregations around the city.

The Wayman Tisdale Story

The Wayman Tisdale Story: a one-hour documentary being produced for national cable network broadcast. Wayman Tisdale was a three-time All-American, 1984 gold medal Olympian, former NBA player, and accomplished jazz musician. Diagnosed with cancer in 2007, which led to the amputation of his right leg, Tisdale courageously battled his illness and became a source of inspiration and hope for many. Empowered by his music and his faith, his story, told through his own words, reveals the great potential of the human spirit in facing physical adversity. He was a source of inspiration and hope for others, for self-help and the common good. Tisdale was known for his infectious smile and keen sense of humor, which he never lost in the wake of his cancer. Family members and friends, including Michael Jordan, country music artist Toby Keith, and jazz musician Marcus Miller, share their thoughts and memories of Tisdale.
